DEEP BLUE’s successful repair period at Damen Verolme Rotterdam

Early July the deepwater pipelay and construction vessel Deep Blue was undocked after a period of two months in the Damen Verolme Rotterdam drydock no. 6.

The vessel is owned and operated by TechnipFMC. The Deep Blue with an overall length of 206.50 meter and a moulded breadth of 32 meter was in the drydock for its 5-year special periodical survey.

The main scope for Damen Verolme Rotterdam was renewal of the grillage on the AFT main deck with full timber protection, assistance on the overhaul of the thrusters and work on the water ballast tanks, main deck and on the crane boom.

After the dry dock period the cranes were successful load tested alongside quay no. 5, in parallel, TechnipFMC completed mobilization activities for their next project.

The vessel left the Damen Verolme yard in July for sea trials, where she then began transit to the Gulf of Mexico.
